PROJECT
Center of Expertise in Esports
Developing Esports in Central Finland
Project description
The Center of Expertise in Esports in Central Finland (2023-2025) brought together companies, research institutions and educational organizations interested in and working within the field. The aim was to collaboratively develop business and expertise related to gaming and esports.
The activities were manifested through networking events, gatherings, the generation of new research findings, as well as the modeling of education and career paths.
The project activities were directed across the entire Central Finland region. Our vision, which extends beyond the project’s duration, is to build the region into an attractive and internationally unique innovation and testing environment for esports.
The project was coordinated by JAMK University of Applied Sciences, with its co-implementers being the University of Jyväskylä, the Finnish Institute of High Performance Sport KIHU, and the Jyväskylä Educational Consortium Gradia. The project was co-funded by the European Union, with the Regional Council of Central Finland acting as the funding authority.
